The Innovation Development Center of the Blind, a not-for profit organization serving print-disabled persons, located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia,
based on cooperation and financial support from WIPO, which is a specialized agency of the United Nations with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, have conducted
4 days training for Epub inclusive publishing training for the benifit of print disabled benificiaries in Mongolia
within the context of Accessible Books Consortium ("ABC") activities,
which is a multi-stakeholder partnership comprising WIPO,
organizations that serve people with print disabilities, and organizations representing publishers and authors.
In accordance to agreement between WIPO and IDC, IDC will continuesly work on the next batch of activities after Epub inclusive publishing training has been conducted.
Following organizations have contributed to conduct the inclusive publishing training in Mongolia for the organizations, individuals and publishers to create accessible epub books for people with print disabilities:
For the Epub inclusive publishing training, Mr. Prashant Ranjan Verma (accessible technology specialist from DAISY Consortium) was invited and worked for four days as an instructor to create accessible epub books for print disabled people, and there were 22 trainees participated from eleven different organizations. Also at the first day of training, Mrs. Myagmardorj (Copyright expert from Mongolian Intelectual Property organization) had given presentation about Marrakesh treaty and Mongolian laws and regulations regarding Copyrighted intelectual properties.
